St Elizabeth’s Church (The Beacon) in Earlham held a special mother’s day café church, bringing the community together to celebrate their families.
The church encouraged local families from the area to come for breakfast and to join in with the activities available.
Over 70 people attended and children and parents participated in making special gifts for their mums, and everyone enjoyed sharing breakfast and time together.
There was a real sense of community, and attendees commented – “this is a great way to bring the community together!” and “It's great to see the Church come back to life”.
Fresh expressions of church have recently been established at The Beacon under the leadership of Danny Doran-Smith
(as the new Pioneer Minister for the area) and the ENYP team. Danny said, “In the last two months we’ve been able to develop a number of children and youth activities alongside fresh expressions of church now reaching out to over 250 individuals. It is a real privilege to connect with the local community and we look forward to seeing how things develop in the next few months.”
On the back of this ENYP will also soon be establishing a football school in the Earlham area, and are also seeking to recruit a new Youth Arts Worker in the near future.
