Worship and teaching weekend at Sheringham church

“Stir 20”, a weekend of worship and teaching for the whole family is planned at Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham at the beginning of May. Tony Rothe reports.

Last year’s Stir weekend at Lighthouse, with speakers Paul and Priscilla Reid from Belfast and Roy Crowne from Hope, was well attended and the church is aiming to build on this success with this year’s event which will take place over the weekend of May 2 and 3.

The speakers this year will be Tim and Helen Roberts from Wellspring Church in Watford, and Eddie Lyle, president of Open Doors.

Tim is Senior Minister at Wellspring and is married to Helen who serves on the leadership eam as Executive Minister. Together they have led Wellspring Church since 1998, providing strategic visionary leadership to the Senior Leadership and to the Church as a whole through inspirational preaching, leadership development and key decision making. They have three enthusiastic children and have lived in the Watford area since the mid-1990s.

Eddie Lyle is the president of Open Doors Ministry, which provides Bibles, Christian literature, training and practical support to the Persecuted Church worldwide, and is the world's largest outreach to persecuted Christians, working in the most high-risk places on earth. He is married to Christine and they have a son called Adam.

Worship will be led by the Lighthouse Worship Band.  The youth programme will be organised by Norwich Youth for Christ and the children’s programme will be led by Andy Jones and Raise along with the Lighthouse team. Refreshments will be available over the weekend.

“The whole idea of Stir 20 is to encourage other Christians and to build faith for our communities” explained Ian Savory from Lighthouse leadership, “This is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a great weekend of worship and teaching in North Norfolk, so keep the dates free!”

Tickets are now available, and “Earlybird” prices, only for this month, are:
Adults - £12.50 per day, £20 for the weekend
Children - £2.50 per day, £5 for the weekend
