New music festival to boost use of Feltwell church

St Mary’s Church in Feltwell will play host to a new two-day music festival, F-19, featuring up-and-coming bands from across the country, to raise funds so the church can be a more useable building for the West Norfolk village community.

The F-19 Music Festival is a new two-day event in Feltwell featuring an exciting line-up of folk, blues and rock acts from across the country.

St Mary’s Church will host the event over the weekend of Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 July. John Stickley (pictured), the driving force behind the new event, said: “The huge medieval church will provide an evocative environment as the huge timber roof arches over the stage”.

St Marys Church FeltwellJohn has pulled together an array of bands and solo artists to perform including PRS Lynsey de Paul Award winner Zoe Wren, The Fireside Family from Wales, Essex duo When Rivers Meet and singer songwriter Luke Jackson whose live album was voted 2018 Album of the Year by Laurel Canyon.  All day street food options will be available outside as well as children's entertainment including interactive storytelling and face painting.

All profits from the F-19 Festival will go towards installing toilets and a kitchen within the Grade I listed church of St Mary’s, enabling it to be more widely used by the local community.

John said: "Toilets and a kitchen are desperately needed in this lovely space to make it even more suitable to offer various activities and events for villagers and visitors.  The church is in the heart of the village and so it is natural that it should be able to provide a place where many different activities can take place for everyone to share - whether they are religious or not."

Tickets are now on sale from Eventbrite.
