Gorleston church launches Easter Egg hunt

Easter Saturday promises to be a fun afternoon for the community on the Magdalen Estate in Gorleston, as St Mary Magdalene Church’s community Easter egg hunt returns for its second year.

The church on Magdalen Square, at the heart of the estate, is inviting everyone from the community to join in with their grand Easter egg hunt on Easter Saturday, April 20.

Following the same format as last year, residents will pick up a trail guide from the church between 2pm and 3pm. They can then follow the trail around the estate and solve the clues, returning to the church to collect their prize.  There will be chocolate eggs and Hot Cross Buns to reward all participants. The cost is only £1 per group.

Rev Matthew Price, minister of St Mary Magdalene Church, commented, “last year we welcomed over 150 people to our first Easter egg hunt and there was a real sense of community as people looked for the clues together.  We hope that this year’s event will build on that success.”

Rev Price continued, “In addition to the Easter egg hunt and refreshments there will also be games and craft activities for families to join in with. We want the afternoon to be a fantastic community celebration!”
