Held at St Andrew’s Vicarage
, on Newmarket Road
, the popular annual event drew the crowds and raised £3450 for children and youth work in the parishes.
Cllr Judith Lubbock, Lord Mayor of Norwich
, joined the crowds enjoying delicious cakes and teas, pancakes, burgers and ice creams as well as the opportunity to get a bargain at the jewellery or book store, stock up on plants, jams and chutneys, or buy some garden tools.
Vicar of St Andrew's, Phil Rodd
said: “It seemed really special this year. I had some fascinating conversations with people and you can't do that when you are busy with the everyday run of things. It was great to see so many people in our garden, relaxing, catching up with old friends and perhaps making some new ones, too.”
Vicar of Christ Church, Eaton, Patrick Richmond
, said: “We are so grateful to the mayor, Cllr Judith Lubbock, for opening the garden party and taking time with us here. People seemed to find the atmosphere welcoming and the party has been really successful, not just in financial terms, but also as an opportunity to build and celebrate community and togetherness.”
