Re-launched church welcomes all in North Norfolk

Grace Church North Norfolk has recently opened in East Runton, formed from the membership of the former Cromer Baptist Church, and all are welcome to join the services.

Cromer Baptist Church was originally founded on 1 January 1901 by the Norfolk Association of Baptist Churches, and the new building on Church Street in Cromer, which became their home for over 100 years, was opened on 1 January 1903.

The last service in the Church Street building was held on 7 January 2018 when the church relocated to their current home in neighbouring East Runton, a couple of miles along the coast road. They moved into the former East Runton Methodist chapel in the High Street (NR27 9PB), with the first service taking place on the following Lord’s Day on 14 January 2018.

The church had become completely independent back in 1989, and affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) in 2021. The change of name has now taken place as part of the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

Families with children are part of the fellowship and activities are now provided for under 11’s during the sermon.  Morning services are live-streamed on YouTube. There is also a bible study and prayer meeting at 2pm every Wednesday

Derek Hann, a deacon at the church, says “We have recently seen an increase in numbers, and a good number of holidaymakers from various parts of the country have visited during the summer months. Visitors are very welcome, whether local or on holiday.”
