Education Sunday 2024 – 8 September

What is your church or Churches Together group doing to mark this national day of prayer and celebration for everyone in the world of education?

Education Sunday is a special Sunday on which churches across England and Wales pray for all those who work in education, and pray for all those who learn. It has been celebrated for over 100 years.
It is a time to think about how the Church can support education and a time to give thanks for the gift of education.

CTE General Secretary Bishop Mike Royal explains more in this video link

“We’d like every church, across the traditions, to take a moment during their services on Sunday 8 September to pray for all the learners and educators in their community. Why not invite them to visit that day so your congregations can meet them?” said Education Sunday Coordinator and Free Churches Group Education Officer Sarah Lane Cawte. “Education Sunday is a great way for churches to start to build or deepen relationships with local schools, colleges and universities in their area,” she added.

The theme for 2024 is Learning together: education in our community.?
