Quiz or sleep to raise funds for YMCA Norfolk

A couple of opportunities to raise money for the vital work of YMCA Norfolk are fast approaching, including a Quiz Night and Sleep Easy event.

The YMCA’s popular quiz night is back on Thursday February 24, hosted at its brand new Community Hub on Aylsham Road, Norwich.

All are welcome at the fun charity quiz night raising funds for YMCA Norfolk. Tickets are just £5 per person, and you are invited to bring a team of up to 6 people. Food from Williams’ Kitchen will be available.

Purchase your tickets and select your food options here.

Each year YMCA Norfolk joins YMCAs from across England and Wales to take part in a mammoth Sleep Easy fundraising event with the aim of raising vital funds to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.

From 7pm on Friday March 11 to 7am on Saturday March 12, hundreds of people across the country will be sleeping anywhere but their beds to raise awareness of the thousands of young people who are made homeless each year, and YMCA Norfolk is calling on the county to join in.

Susie Knights, Marketing & Fundraising Manager of YMCA Norfolk said: “This year we’ve decided to utilise our exciting new Community Hub on Aylsham Road, Norwich, to host our sleep easy fundraising event. To make the night as authentic as possible we will use our outdoor car park area and cafe decking space.

“However, you can choose to participate in the event wherever you like. We’ve previously had fundraisers sleep rough in schools, community centres, their back garden, garages, churches, car parks and much more.

“By spending a night in an unusual place or sleeping outside, you will experience what it’s like to get minimal sleep as you feel vulnerable to the elements. Many of our young people have unfortunately had to go through this and we want to raise as many funds as possible, so make sure to involve family, friends and work colleagues too.”
