New Community role for Yarmouth Salvation Army
Great Yarmouth Salvation Army has appointed local man Harry Woods as Community Manager in a new role to drive its community support projects in the town. Tony Rothe reports
The support projects Harry will be co-ordinating include:
-
Foodbank, operating each Monday and Tuesday, which also signposts clients to other support where needed.
-
A new club called CAMEO - Come And Meet Each Other, which is open to everyone from 11am to 2pm each Thursday
-
Sally Ann's Memory Cafe, which is also new, and meets every Friday from 10am to 2pm.
In addition there is, of course, Sunday worship every week at 10.30am and a midweek bible study from 11am to 12 noon every Wednesday.
Harry says, “We have a new and very exciting community program. We have always supported those in the community that need help, but our new program aims to tackle some of the many problems and issues that have come through this pandemic, for example- loneliness through isolation, mental health, and also those who have dementia, by providing much-needed support for them and their family members/carers.”
Great Yarmouth Salvation Army is located at:
Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2SQ
