Invite to join free online Christian men's festival
Christian men’s festival The Gathering will be streaming free online in June and speakers include musician Graham Kendrick, comedian Steve Legg and Urban Praise Project’s Mark Tate.
Christian Vision for Men (CVM) will again be streaming online their annual men’s festival The Gathering. Starting at 7.30pm on Friday June 25 and continuing on Saturday June 26 with morning, afternoon and evening sessions, the event will be hosted by Beechy (Carl Beech, CVM President) and Blackers (Nathan Blackaby, CEO CVM) from a studio built by event production company Extreme Production Group.
With a theme this year of The Journey, exploring the challenges faced by men at each step of walking with Jesus, and appearances, testimony and interviews from guests such as comedian Steve Legg, Royal Navy Chaplain Dave Jeal, Andy Flute (former pro-boxer and author of Jesus In My Corner) and Mark Tate (The Grove Community and Urban Praise Project), music from Graham Kendrick, as well as Beechy and Blackers’ unique on-screen partnership, this event is unashamedly Gospel driven and seeking to reach men across the United Kingdom, as well as further afield.
CVM’s CEO, Nathan Blackaby, said: “We're online again and what we learned last year was ‘we can do this really well’, this year we're putting on an even bigger show and as always the gospel is going to be front and centre.”
The charity is encouraging men’s groups around the nation to get involved and host (in-line with government guidance) local gatherings for the weekend to watch and interact with the live stream, as well as putting on other activities.
Carl Beech added: “This is a massive gospel opportunity to gather the guys in your garden and get involved”.
The event will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube and further information can be found at the event website www.thegatheringformen.com.
CVM is a national evangelistic men's movement whose vision is to win a million men to Christ. With a focus on supporting leaders and groups within the local church, CVM produces resources, runs events around the country and regularly live streams to social media channels on Facebook and YouTube. CVM’s primary resource is The Code, a twelve-point honour code manual for men for practical Christian living.
The Gathering is CVM’s flagship event started in 2011 by Carl Beech after he decided he no longer wanted to put on men’s events he wouldn’t want to attend himself. Usually taking place in a field near Swindon, in 2019 the event had grown to over 2000 attendees before the coronavirus pandemic forced it online in 2020. The Gathering is evangelistic in focus and offers an unassuming, friendly and fun environment that men can bring non-Christians to where the gospel will be preached. Over 1000 men have been introduced to Jesus during Gospel messages and a long-term partnership with Compassion has seen over 500 kids sponsored out of poverty.
