Norfolk Christian conference centre set to re-open
The Belsey Bridge Christian conference centre in South Norfolk is set to re-open on August 14 following the government’s announcement on its four-step strategy to lift restrictions.
Its owner, the Christian Conference Trust, has also announced that its other two conference centres, The Hayes in Derbyshire and High Leigh in Hertfordshire will reopen from July 1. The trust says it is delighted that all events will be able to go ahead without restrictions.
Chief Executive John Heasman said: “We are so very thankful to all of our groups for their understanding throughout this time. The encouragement we have received has been overwhelming and it is clear to see that our guests highly value the benefits of residential retreats, where their group can meet face-to-face. Video conferencing will never replace the closeness of community felt by going away for a church weekend together.”
Since March 2020, Christian Conference Trust has rescheduled over 750 events and they continue to offer full flexibility for all conferences due to take place in 2021, so groups can plan with confidence.
Churches and Christian organisations will see some exciting changes as the Trust has spent the last year investing in their venues. High Leigh and The Hayes are now equipped with all en-suite bedrooms, 38 of which at High Leigh are brand new. The Hayes has a stunning refurbished lounge and an elegantly redecorated dining room. High Leigh has a new lounge bar and all three centres now serve high quality freshly ground coffee which directly supports the coffee-growing community.
Since the government outlined its strategy to lift restrictions, Christian Conference Trust has seen a sharp rise in enquiries as groups look to benefit from connecting face-to-face, away from their everyday environment.
