Yarmouth Kingsgate lift ribbon

Great Yarmouth church can now rise up

Kingsgate Community Church in Great Yarmouth has installed a new disabled access lift, meaning that all users of The Kings Centre can now access the first floor again.

The old lift broke down last summer and this has been creating difficulties for some of those needing to get to the rooms upstairs. The church is once again able to offer full access to the first-floor spaces for everyone that uses the centre.

After cutting the ribbon, Mike Beales, pictured above, said “I am so glad we have reopened the lift; climbing stairs is difficult for me and I can now go to the weekly group that meets upstairs”

Yarmouth Kingsgate lift 750CFKingsgate is a charity in Great Yarmouth that runs the Kings Centre, a church, community hub and conferencing centre. They hold Christian church services, run several midweek community-focused groups, work alongside local initiatives to support the community in the town and hire conferencing rooms to other charities and businesses looking for training and meeting spaces in the Great Yarmouth area.

Julia Miller, Kingsgate Community Manager, said “We are really pleased that the whole of the Kings Centre is once again fully accessible to everyone in our community, enabling them to access all of the great services and support available in the building”.
