Norwich church hosts new kind of men’s event

Men of all ages are invited to take part in physical activities and challenges and hear the gospel message in an environment in which they feel comfortable.

An event run by Christian Vision for Men (CVM) will be hosted by Norwich Central Baptist Church on Tuesday March 31.

Billed as ‘a new kind of men’s event’, its purpose is to offer something appealing to men who find church in the traditional sense off-putting.

Research cited by CVM on their website suggests that just 33% of men feel comfortable in church, and many are put off by the perceived ‘feminine’ church culture, concluding that church is ‘irrelevant, for wimps and women’.

CVM is on tour around the country to offer men an evening of entertainment, a chance to spend time with friends and to hear about who Jesus is and why millions of people follow him.

CVM Norwich area co-ordinator Stephen Gladwell said, “This is a brilliant opportunity to invite your friends to hang out together and get stuck in to some practical tasks and challenges. CVM events are always top class; the gospel slot isn’t cringy, but it’s delivered in an honest and relatable way.”
