Cromer’s new vicar looks forward to Christmas
Cromer Parish Church has a new vicar, and has a programme of services and events planned to celebrate Christmas.
Cromer Church has welcomed a new family into their midst. Vicar Rev’d Will Warren has moved to Cromer with his wife Claire and young family, pictured above.
Will says, “We have received such a warm welcome from the Cromer Community, and we are really looking forward to our time here. We are particularly looking forward to our first Christmas in Cromer and enjoying all that area has to offer this season. Christmas is such a special time for families and it’s a time to be thankful for God’s amazing love for us in the gift of his son Jesus. Last year over 1,500 visited our church and we are praying that many of you will visit us again this year”.
The Civic Celebration and Community Carol Service is at 3.00pm this Sunday, December 1.
The annual Traditional Carol Service will be held in the Parish Church at 6.30pm on Sunday December 15, exploring Christmas through carols for choir and congregations, bible readings and a Christmas message. All are invited to stay and enjoy mince pies afterwards.
Family Carols at nearby St Martin's church will be held at 4pm on Sunday December 22. The service is suitable for young children and will be followed by a family tea.
On Christmas Eve the Parish Church will be full of families enjoying two Christingle services, at 2.30pm and 4.30pm. Because of the popularity of these events, and to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone, each service will be subject to a maximum capacity of 450 people, and it may be necessary to turn people away once this limit has been reached. In fairness to all, it will not be possible to reserve seating. Doors will be open half an hour before each service.
The birth of Jesus will be celebrated at a Christmas Eve communion in the Parish Church at 11pm, and again on Christmas Day with a tradition communion service at 9.00am and an all-age communion service at 10.45am.
