Get creative in the relaxing environment of Quiet Waters on the Norfolk border near Bungay. A calligraphy and prayer retreat is set for September 24 - 28 and a watercolour painting retreat from October 29 - 31.
 

 

Calligraphy and Prayer Retreat: September 24 – 28

Leaders: Sheila Coughtrey and Peter Walter
Sheila is a Church of England priest who retired in 2015 after 34 years in ministry, mainly working in London but for the last 14 years as Warden of the Diocesan Retreat House and Priest-in-charge of a riral parish in Essex. She is a trained spiritual director, with an interest in Ignatian spirituality, and the relationship between creativity and spirituality.

Peter is a retired teacher who has practised calligraphy for 25 years and has been a Creative Arts Retreat Movement (CARM) tutor since 2002. Calligraphers at all levels from complete beginners to highly experienced are welcome on his retreats.

The cost for the retreat full board is £340 for an individual room and £315 for a shared room.
Arrive at 10am on Monday September 24 and depart after lunch on Friday 29th.
 


Watercolour Painting Retreat: October 29 - 31

Spend a relaxing few days painting in watercolours – landscape, still life or paint your own Christmas card.
A gentle art retreat to enjoy and experience working with watercolours using various techniques. While painting, the atmosphere will be one of calm and peace with gentle music playing and no mobile phones allowed!

For beginners and those wishing to build their confidence in this media, working from photos, real and still life.

Ann Faiers is an experienced watercolour artist. Her work includes still life, flowers and landscapes.
Arriving early afternoon on Monday and departing in the afternoon on the Wednesday
Suggested donation for the full retreat us £135
Day visitors are welcome each day, suggested donation: £12 for Monday and £25 per day for Tuesday and Wednesday including lunch.
Please bring your own art materials although some will be available for those who require them.
