Opening date set for N Norfolk Christian holiday centre
The Christian Endeavour Holiday Centre, The Pleasaunce, situated in Overstrand two miles south-east of Cromer, will reopen on Friday June 30.
The Centre Managers will be a very experienced couple, Phillip and Jillian Orme, who started their new life at The Pleasaunce on March 1, dealing with practical jobs like refurbishment and redecoration.
Phillip and Jillian, pictured above, felt called by God into full-time Christian ministry in 2007, and became superintendents of the Sandes Centre at the Army Training Centre in Pirbright, Surrey. Sandes serves the military community by providing a permanent Christian presence in home-from-home, neutral Centres across the UK.
The Reopening and Thanksgiving celebration will take place from 1pm until 6pm on Saturday July 1 to rejoice in the new beginning. This will be an informal gathering, with key events, culminating in afternoon tea for which there will be no charge, although donations will be very welcome. Admission will be by free ticket only, owing to limitations on space. Please contact Tony Hughes for tickets on 01925 495025 or at email@example.com.
The Pleasaunce is a Grade II* listed mansion, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Lord and Lady Battersea. The main house stands in 6 acres of walled grounds containing a chapel, cloisters, sunken and rose gardens and a clock tower. The grounds extend to the cliffs overlooking Overstrand’s sandy beach. Accommodating up to 80 guests, the Centre is an ideal destination for holidaymakers, conference groups, weekend/mid-week breaks, school parties and retreats.
Christian Endeavour Holiday Centres Ltd owns a second house, Beechwood Court, in Conwy, North Wales. Beechwood Court will reopen at Easter.
