Awesome weekend planned by church

AwesomeTeamProclaimers Church in Norwich is planning an Awesome birthday weekend to mark the first year of its ground-breaking evening service.
The first weekend in June is set be a great weekend of celebration as the guys from Proclaimers hit the streets.
It marks not only the celebrations of one year for the pioneering evening service they call Awesome but another weekend when the people of Proclaimers will host a Saturday afternoon of activities and services in the heart of Norwich.
On Saturday June 3, St Peter Mancroft will once again be the venue for an evangelistic outreach into the streets of Norwich. This time the team will begin with a 2pm service of music and preaching and they’ll continue to do performances throughout the afternoon.
During the afternoon there will be the Awesome Band, lead by Owen Morgan, as well as music by DJ Ezra. There will also be numerous talks and testimonies during the afternoon aimed at winning people to Christ. A large team of people will be on the streets and in the church available to talk with people engaging them in discussion about Jesus, church and eternal life.
The night will climax at 6:30pm with a powerful service featuring the Awesome Band playing latest songs from both Hillsong United and Planet Shakers. This will be followed by a talk from Phil Temple.
“Proclaimers Church is inviting people from all over Norfolk to attend this weekend of reaching people for Jesus Christ,” said Tom Rawls, Senior Minister of Proclaimers. “It will be a time for people to invite their unsaved friends and believe they’ll receive Christ as Lord and Saviour. All are welcome.
“The best is yet to come – we have a heart to see our city shaken for Jesus!”
On Sunday  June 4 Proclaimers Church will celebrate one year of Awesome at their 7pm service at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Norwich.
“Awesome has grown wildly in popularity as well as influence,” said Tom. “Sunday nights at Awesome are a draw card for churches and youth groups from all over Norfolk. Everyone is invited to come along and take part – make sure you bring friends who have not yet connected with God.
“Awesome has been a groundbreaking service where over this last year hundreds have come to know Christ as Saviour.”
Awesome is the evening service of Proclaimers Church designed to explain the message of Christ using as many contemporary methods as possible. It features a live band playing music that carries a powerful message about Jesus and a generation’s commitment to Him.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
