Superheroes coming to church in Watton

A year since Watton Churches Together launched the Who cares? ecumenical mission initiative at Watton carnival, St Mary’s Church in Watton are launching Superhero Sundays as a response to some of the hurts that were identified in the anonymous responses from the Who Cares? survey.

stmaryswattonsheroesRev. Gerry Foster, Vicar of St Mary’s Watton said “one of the five ‘biggest hurts’ which emerged was family relationships, which included breakdown, disappointment and loneliness. We want these Superhero Sundays to be an opportunity to welcome people of all ages to get together and be reconnected to hope in God and happiness in a fun time with all ages of people . We want to use the great facilities for games we have on the field opposite St Mary’s, weather permitting, but with a contingency plan in the rooms at St Mary’s Church, if it’s wet, so it won’t be cancelled. The people organising it are working together to make this fun time possible and we hope many  of you will come and join us, even after the Carnival, on 14th June.”

These exciting new sessions are open to people of any age for fun, food and friendship and run from 4pm to 5.15pm on Sunday May 10, 2015, Sunday June 14, 2015 and Sunday July 12, 2015
