Reg shares story of hope at Norwich dinner
2014: Father-of-five Reg Smith, who found life-long hope and recovery after a family tragedy, shared his surprising story at a Norwich FGB dinner evening on Friday, March 14 at the Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe.
Reg and Ann’s life “literally fell apart” after their young baby son, Peter, suffered a cot death at six weeks.
Then, some days later, Reg rediscovered his Bible on a shelf in their lounge. It was a book he “really hadn’t read in years”, but as he randomly opened its pages he found it spoke powerfully to his grieving heart – and thus he began a journey to faith in Christ and service to the community.
In time, Reg and Ann began a remarkable work in their local community, helping many people in need, including those in prison. Reg also became a pioneering local president of the Full Gospel Businessmen in Southend. “We’ve seen life-changing answers to prayer,” says Reg.
This dinner is one of a series of monthly events organised by the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen (FGB), which is endorsed in the UK by the Archbishop of York who says, “We need more men like them.”
