Senior officer tells his story in Norwich
2008: A surprising comment by a general in the British Army helped change the life of Robert Osborne, who was the speaker at a lunch arranged by the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship at the Maid’s Head Hotel, Norwich on Thursday, February 21, 2008.
The general had told about his personal and profound faith in Jesus Christ. This encouraged Robert, then a junior officer, in his own quest for the truth.
Robert’s military career eventually took him into the RAF, where he reached the rank of squadron leader, seeing active service in many parts of the world. As a senior admin officer, he also convened courts martial. In civilian life, he learned to relax by becoming a highly accomplished water-colour artist.
Robert’s talk was one of the regular series of monthly lunch events held at the Maid’s head Hotel on Tombland in the centre of the city.
The lunches (from 1-2pm) are aimed largely at people who work in the city and are designed to fit in a standard lunch hour with a half-hour meal followed by the 30-minute talk.
