Visit Wighton chapel anniversary exhibition

The Methodist Chapel in Wighton, near Wells in North Norfolk, is 150 years old, and all are welcome to a special service later this month to mark the anniversary of the first service at the chapel in 1874.

The chapel now houses the East Anglia Methodist Heritage Centre, and new museum which opened in July 2023 dedicated to the history of Methodism in the region. It tells the story of the Methodist church and its influence on East Anglia over the last 250 years, since John and Charles Wesley came to preach in Norwich in 1754.

The East Anglia Methodist Heritage Centre is on the High Street in Wighton. It is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am to 3pm throughout the summer and admission is free. However, this event will be last day of opening at the Heritage Centre in 2024. The centre will re-open at Easter 2025.
