Two discussions around children and families

Hear Dr Robert Glover OBE talk about why children need to be in families and the work that has taken him across the globe.

There are two opportunities to hear Dr Robert Glover OBE speak in North Norfolk this month.

Sheringham Brunch event is at 10.30am on Saturday June 15 at the Life Centre.

Cromer Breakfast event will be held at 8.30am on Saturday June 29 at the Parish Hall.

Robert Glover first visited China in 1996 as a UK social worker to research how he could use his professional training to support disadvantaged children. In 1998 Robert and his wife Elizabeth founded Care for Children and moved to Shanghai with their family of eight, to work in partnership with the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.

Robert and Elizabeth were then asked by the Beijing government to move to Beijing to act as an advisor to China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs and to roll out foster care across China .

Dr Robert said: “Being a father of six myself, I recognise that it is a privilege to serve some of the most disadvantaged children around the world.”

Robert and Elizabeth have had remarkable success in replicating family placement across Asia. They act as advisors at conferences, events and consortiums around the world. Their work has seen a generation of orphans lives transformed through the love of a family.
