Yarmouth gospel choir seeks new members
The Happy Day Gospel Choir is starting a new term in March, and is looking for new members to join them.
Would you like to have a go at singing gospel?
The Happy Day Gospel Choir is a very friendly small choir, noted for its lively, fun and enthusiastic performances! They sing a mix of classic gospel, and their own gospelised versions of funk, pop, blues and soul songs, accompanied by a small live band. They will be working towards two charity concerts in June.
Rehearsals will be on
Fridays 7.30-9.30 in
Caister Methodist Church, Beach Road NR30 5EX, cost is
£2 a session. Also at
Magdalen Way Methodist Church every
Sunday from
6 - 7.30pm, no charge. You're welcome to either or both rehearsals, whatever suits you.
Whether you only sing in the bath, or are soloist standard; whatever your age, experience and beliefs, all are welcome to come together to share joy through music.
Recently the Happy Day Gospel Choir performed at
Great Yarmouth Minster as part of the
Great Yarmouth Arts Festival.
Andy Hudson, one of the founders of the choir, explains that “the more the audiences get involved (clapping, singing along, even dancing), the more they reflect back the joy, and the more it grows. That's a precious experience.” Co-founder
Lolo Wynans adds: “for me (as the pianist/conductor), I also love the experience of seeing the choir really enjoying singing (whether at rehearsal or in concerts), seeing their smiles, their enthusiasm, watching them having a fabulous time.”
