Development Worker needed for PlayVan project

The trustees of the Diocese of Norwich Playvan project are seeking to appoint a part-time Development Worker with experience in early years to continue and develop its work.

The Diocese of Norwich PlayVan* has operated across Norfolk for over 20 years and provides initial resources and support to help rural communities establish stay and play groups for children aged 0-5 and their parents in areas where there is often no other local amenities or childcare provision.

The trustees are seeking to appoint a Development Worker with experience in early years to continue the work re-establishing and supporting our existing stay and play groups in the wake of the pandemic and identifying new areas for development by working with volunteers and other community groups to grow sustainable services in isolated areas of the county. So, if you are looking for a new challenge in life, then this job may be for you!

The role is 20 hours per week, term time only + 2 weeks (41 weeks) with a robust support and training package. The salary is £10.50 per hour.

As well as developing and facilitating groups, the Development Worker may be required to supervise staff and volunteers in a line management role.  If you are passionate about working with families, have a good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, community development and partnership working, this role will be ideal for you.

Appointment for this position could be affected by Government restrictions. We envisage a late summer/ early Autumn term start date.
