Norfolk Christian League hails 'fantastic spirit'
As the new football season starts, the most sporting team in the Norfolk Christian League from last season have been presented with a trophy for their “fantastic spirit”.
Stalham Baptist Church were presented with the league’s Fellowship Trophy before a season-opening tournament at Sloughbottom Park on Saturday (September 18).
Presenting the trophy in front of half-a-dozen league teams, Paul Nice, league committee member and manager of Silver Road Baptist, said: “Stalham Baptist are a team which has shown fantastic spirit throughout the season and have fully deserved the accolade.
"The Christian League is all about playing with a smile on your face, playing with a really good attitude and being good to play with and against and Stalham very much epitomise that spirit.
“They are long-time members of the league, very much liked and respected and represent a key part of what the league is all about.”
