Faith and art expressed at Salthouse Church
Local artist Tracey Ross will be holding an exhibition of her art in St Nicholas Church in Salthouse next month, and all are welcome to come and view. Tony Rothe reports.
Tracey's show is entitled “Heaven & Earth” as she sees it as an expression of her faith as well as her art. The exhibition runs from Friday August 14 to Friday 28. Daily from 10am to 5.30pm, (11am start on Sundays). All social distancing measures will be in place.
Tracey says, “I’m really excited to announce that my second solo show at Salthouse Church is now going ahead. I've been working on a collection of paintings inspired by my sketching walks out on the North Norfolk coast and the beauty of Creation. Salthouse has one of the most stunning, light filled churches in Norfolk and holds several art shows each year. Sadly, this year many exhibitions have been cancelled due to Covid-19 - so I'm delighted that mine can go ahead.”
Tracey Ross studied textile design and then completed a Visual Studies degree at Norwich University of the Arts. She now lives and works in Walsingham in North Norfolk. She says, “Painting to capture the beauty of Creation along the North Norfolk coast, with its creeks, skies and expansive beaches, has become, for me, an exciting spiritual journey on canvas. I find that painting in a semi-abstract style using mixed media, acrylics and oils will enable my paintings to reveal a deeper mystery.”
St. Nicholas Church is on Church Lane (off Cross Street), Salthouse, Norfolk, NR25 7XH.
