Bishop's Easter message of tears into joy and fear into peace
In an online Easter message, the Catholic Bishop of East Anglia, Rt Rev Alan Hopes, says that although we cannot celebrate Easter in our usual way, as the Resurrection of Jesus teaches us, darkness is transfigured into brilliant light by God’s grace, our tears are turned into joy and our fears are turned into peace.
Speaking in a YouTube message, Bishop Alan said: “Even though our world has changed, even though our lives have been turned upside down, even though we might be called to return to our Heavenly Father, ‘do not be afraid’, we have nothing to fear, the empty tomb is God’s own guarantee of hope. It strengthens us in faith, by grace, to radiate His love to one another and to proclaim His truth in our world.
