Opera and comedy from Jonathan Veira in Hellesdon

With his entertaining mix of operatic song and laughter, Christian Jonathan Veira is coming to Meadow Way Chapel in October for an evening of ‘Songs and Tales’.

Meadow Way Chapel in Hellesdon are hosting ‘Songs & Tales’ with Jonathan Veira on Saturday, October 5 at 7pm.

Bass baritone Jonathan Veira has enjoyed an almost 30-year career on the operatic stage taking him around the world. His comedic and vocal talents have led him to receive widespread acclaim playing lead comic baritone roles.

In addition to his operatic roles, Jonathan regularly broadcasts on BBC radio and television, and is a favourite on the Songs of Praise programme.

Jonathan’s Christian faith has been an essential part of his life and work and this is reflected in many of his recorded albums. These vary in style from traditional hymns and carols to blues, gospel and some well-known inspirational secular songs.

The Hellesdon evening has been organised by Ruth and David Southgate of Meadow Way Chapel. David and Ruth have become friends with Jonathan Veira over the years and in 2014 the singer sent the couple a video message of congratulations to play at their golden wedding celebration.

Tickets for the evening with international singer and raconteur Jonathan Veira cost £8 or £4 for under 16s and can be bought from the Cards ‘n’ Things shop at 193 Reepham Road, Hellesdon or call 01603 485 832.

CDs, DVDs and Books all available to buy at the concert.
