Broadland garden available for Christian groups

A Potter Heigham resident, who has been throwing her large garden open for use free of charge by Christian and other groups, has now added a timber pavilion for indoor meetings. Tony Rothe reports.

Wendy Parker has been offering the use of her beautiful 3.5 acre garden since 2013 and a wide variety of groups have visited.
Potter Heigham garden 750CF“My garden has been used for quite a few groups for different reasons” she said. “There have been a few Quiet days held by Methodist, Baptist and Anglican Churches from around the area. There have also been visits by Women’s Institute and Mothers Union groups coming for afternoon visits for meetings or just to see the garden, for which I have provided tea and cakes. There have been church study days, church picnics, and private visits for people just needing a quiet place to sit and reflect. All I have asked for was just a donation to a charity or worthy cause.”
Wendy has now had a large timber pavilion constructed with seating for around 40 people. This provides a space for indoor meetings and, of course, a retreat in the case of poor weather.
“God has blessed me with such a beautiful garden, and so I feel the urge to share it with others" she said.
