Good News needs new distribution co-ordinator

GNFNAutumn18Coverx450The Good News for Norwich & Norfolk newspaper is looking for a new distribution co-ordinator to help the long-established newspaper reach as many readers as possible, four times a year.

The role involves maintaining the current well-established distribution network which ensures that nearly 7,000 copies of each paper promptly reach churches, bookshop and libraries across greater Norwich and surrounding parts of Norfolk.
The quarterly distribution involves collecting the papers from the printers in Thorpe St Andrew, sorting and delivering to a dozen area contacts for further distribution.
Currently each edition takes three to four of hours of planning and communication from home, mainly via email; then around a day collecting and distributing.
Knowledge of the city and the Christian community would be helpful and there will be a detailed handover from the current co-ordinator Val Dodsworth.
You are also invited to attend quarterly editorial meetings with the Good News team.
You need to be reasonably fit to lift the 10kg bundles and have your own transport. We can pay mileage if required, as the role is a voluntary one.
If you share our vision to ensure that good news stories about the Norwich and Norfolk Christian community reach as wide an audience as possible and would like to find out more details, please contact editor Keith Morris on 07712 787762 or email for an initial chat.

Ideally we are looking to appoint someone in time to shadow the Christmas edition distribution with Val towards the end of November.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
