Norwich church makes generous hymnbook offer

The congregation at St Andrew's Church in Eaton will all be singing from the same new hymnbook thanks to the generosity of a church family – which means they are offering 200 of their current hymnbooks to another church.

Music director, Margaret Smith, said: “One of our church families has given a new hymnbook in gratitude for the support and love shown during the illness and, sadly, the death of a very dear husband and father who loved church music, sang regularly in the choir and for whom worship was an integral part of his faith.
“Hence, we have over 200 copies of Hymns Old and New to dispose of. There are 571 hymns and songs, ranging widely from all-time favourites like "Great is thy faithfulness" and "Abide with me" to more modern worship arrangements of "Majesty", "Purify my heart" and some Taize chants.
“The congregational copies are all in excellent condition and we have two or three music copies which are in decent shape, so we would throw them in for free. There is no fixed price per copy but donations to church funds would be wonderful,” said Margaret.
Margaret would love to hear from anyone interested. Her contact details are: 01603 453010, or email:
