Norwich Gospel musicians perform for S African charity

On October 28, Gospel musicians Ike and Linda Nnene will perform a concert with The Power and Beauty Band at Witard Road Baptist Church to raise money for Hope and Light, a charity which cares for band educates children living in deprivation in South Africa.

Ike and Linda Nnene from Rackheath will bring their passion for gospel music to Witard Road Baptist Church in Norwich on Saturday, October 28, 7pm – 9.30pm to raise funds for Hope and Light Community Welfare.

Ike Nnene is a GP at Thorpewood Medical Group in Norwich and Linda Nnene is a teacher at the City of Norwich School. They are also talented gospel music artistes, singer songwriters and worship leaders.

In August, The Power and Beauty Band (the name Ike means power and Linda means beauty) performed their debut concert to a packed venue at The Blake Studio at Norwich School.  Their next live gospel music event is being held as a fundraiser for the benefit of The Hope and Light Charity based in South Africa

Hope and Light is a charity with strong links to Norwich. Paul and Dianne Cruickshank from Norfolk visited the region in 2005, and have since worked with and supported Hope and Light by registering a UK branch of the charity to raise funds for the work.

Hope and Light started with an all-day crèche, and expanded to include a ‘Children’s Village’, where children, who had been suffering abuse, neglect and abandonment could be cared for on a permanent basis.  A purpose built primary school is under construction and the children have moved into the first three classrooms.

Entrance to The Power and Beauty Gospel Nite is £10.00 with tickets available from Ticketsource.  Doors open at 6.30pm.
