Norwich church enjoys biggest women’s event yet
Proclaimers enjoyed a record gathering of women at its quarterly Sisterhood event, with ladies from Norwich and Ipswich joined by ladies watching online in Slovakia.
Over 140 women attended Proclaimer’s Sisterhood event on Friday, May 27 in their Norwich venue, with a coach full of women from their Ipswich campus, and women from their Bratislava campus in Slovakia watching online.
The Sisterhood gatherings, which are part of Hillsong Church’s global Sisterhood movement, have been run by the Norwich church since 2014 meeting four times a year under the leadership of Pastor Denise Rawls with the purpose of empowering and equipping women.
Denise said: “I have always ensured our Sisterhood gatherings have a strong outreach focus on reaching women in our community who wouldn’t normally go to a church.
“As part of this we work hard to make our evenings a lot of fun, with lots of opportunities to connect with other women and make friends. Our messages on the night are always something that, as well as being inspiring, are practical and helpful in everyday life.”
At the event on May 27, held at 7.30-9.00pm, guest speaker, Pastor Linda Wilson (pictured), shared on the topic of ‘being a women in a man’s world’. Linda is a Lead Pastor of Eurolife Church based in Aarhus, Denmark.
Denise said: “Sisterhood is all about equipping and empowering us as women to be all we can be, and do all we can do, and Pastor Linda is a fine example of this.”
