tlcNorwich renamed to become One Church
Last Sunday, January 24, Dominic and Catherine De Souza the newly-installed leaders of tlcNorwich announced that the church will soon be changing its name to One Church.
The announcement was made on the first of the church's two 'vision Sundays'. Dominic said, “We want to honour the faith, service and sacrifice of those in the past who have got us to where we are. Having recently become a fully-fledged Elim Pentecostal Church, the new name reflects a meaningful shift in our culture, outlook, direction and emphasis as we embark on a strategic vision towards building a thriving city church that is significantly impacting the lives of those who live, work and play in Norwich, as well as the culture of the city.”
Catherine said, “Our sense of who we are and what we are about is expanding and we sensed that this new name would better reflect our identity and mission going forward. We also wanted the name to highlight our identity as an Elim Pentecostal Church and our base in Norwich. Arising from a prophetic word from John 17, ‘one’ is also an acronym for ‘One Norwich Elim’. The full name of the church is One Norwich Elim Church but we will be known as One Church.”
The church’s new strapline is “daring faith, unswerving hope, radical love”. The change of name to One Church will become effective on 20th March 2016. One Church is also actively pursuing plans to relocate from Drayton to Hellesdon in the not too distant future.
