Norwich church blaze may have been arson

ZionFireSignAs Norwich police revealed that they are treating the blaze which destroyed the Mount Zion Family Life Centre in Heartsease Lane as possible arson, the church said that they are looking to the future and are soon to submit a planning application for a new building on the site.
Following the fire on February 20, which destroyed the Heartsease church, police say that they are still looking for a large, dark-coloured 4x4 vehicle, possibly a Land Rover Discovery or Land Cruiser, seen at the site at 9.58pm on the evening of the fire and are considering arson as a possible cause.
The church building has now been demolished and Pastor Trevor Pimlott said: "We always assumed it was arson so it's not a surprise. It's an awful feeling and we have felt the shock of it for a long time.

"But the church is in good heart. We are moving forward at Drayton Hall and numbers are growing every week. And we have now got a portable building on site for pre-school."

Trevor revealed that a new church building would be rebuilt on the six-acre site, including a more modern design and that they were hoping to submit a planning application to the city council in June.
