Optimist Colin inspired Norwich FGB dinner
Well-known Norfolk farmer, Colin King who also shares his personal and practical faith with disarming humour, was the special guest speaker at an inspirational dinner evening at the Best Western Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe, near Norwich on Friday, July 17.
“Yes, I love a joke - and it’s better to smile than scowl,” says Colin, optimistically. He is nevertheless ‘very down to earth’ as he shares remarkable stories of ‘God’s faithfulness at harvest time’, sorting out serious weather problems in answer to prayer - and even solving practical issues such as scattering pigeon pests from his pea plantations!
Colin, who lives at Hemsby, is a longtime supporter of the FGB Fellowship and is an elder of the well-established Green Pastures Christian Fellowship in Norfolk. He can trace his family farming history back to the 17th century.
Colin and his wife, Ronwyn, have three grown-up daughters. Despite long working days on the land, Colin has ‘a great love for the Bible truth’ which he says ‘has brought big practical blessings’ to him and his family. He is also a lifelong student of Bible prophecy, coupled with a keen interest in world affairs. He is fascinated by what he sees as ‘God’s hand at work in today’s end-time events,’ despite the complexity of modern global issues.
