Norfolk Christian league plea for volunteer help

NCFLU16FinalMay15x450The Norfolk Christian Football League is facing an uncertain future, despite the conclusion of another successful season and new teams wanting to join the youth leagues.

League chairman, Mike Culwick, has issued an appeal for volunteers from churches or the league’s 40 plus football teams to help run the administration side of the league.

Mike said: “We urgently need an administrator and a treasurer, which are both vital roles. We would like to ask individuals, churches or league teams to consider whether they can help fill these roles, so that the league can continue its mission to footballers of all ages.”

Financially, it has been a difficult year for the league, but we can offer a small remuneration package for a few hours a week for an administrator. We also need a treasurer with basic bookkeeping skills, as well as three age group coordinators from teams within the league. These positions are all voluntary.”

“The league is thriving on the field with 40 teams in five leagues. We have been going now for approaching 40 years and believe that God will provide, so please pray that these positions will be filled.

“Anyone interested in these opportunities would need to be in full agreement with the Christian values of the league and demonstrate that through church attendance or support from a Christian leader,” said Mike.
