Dame Judi talks of life and faith in Norwich

JudiDench430Norwich Cathedral played host to acting royalty this week (June 20), as Dame Judi Dench visited the Cathedral to launch the Young Norfolk Arts Festival.

Regarded as one of Britain’s greatest actors, Dame Judi shared the story of her life and her years of wisdom to delighted pupils at Norwich School.

Arriving in the afternoon, Dame Judi enjoyed lunch with some of the Norwich School pupils before taking part in a question and answer session in the Cathedral with various schools across Norfolk.

Hosted by the Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Graham Smith, Dame Judi answered questions from pupils on her childhood and early influences, her acting career on stage, TV and film as well as her Quaker faith and the time she spent at York Minster whilst growing up.

Following the question and answer session Dame Judi posed for photos and signed autographs for the enthralled audience members before watching Norwich School pupils rehearse Much Ado About Nothing, one of Shakespeare’s plays to be performed at Norwich Cathedral on Sunday June 30 and Monday July 1 as part of the Young Norfolk’s Art Festival.
