Baptisms and carwash at Norwich church service
An unusual combination of baptisms and carwash took place on Pentecost Sunday at Witard Road Baptist Church in Norwich.
The service included worship and testimony before members and friends gathered to witness the baptism by total immersion of two people, closely followed by a third who felt God’s call upon them to do so on the day.
Pastor David Adams, right, assisted by Matthew Field, conducted the baptisms in front of a full congregation, including family and friends of the candidates, to witness the baptisms.
The service also included a dramatic presentation of the Pentecost Bible reading by the Drama Focus Group.
In an effort to be ‘green’ in this time of drought,
the church had been economical with the water supply to the baptistery and did not fill it to the usual depth.
It had also been decided to have a carwash after the service to help recycle the water! For those who preferred, there was a team of volunteers available to clean cars for a donation to the Church Development Fund.
