Norfolk churches gather for revival prayer

WaterRipplesDozens of churches from across Norfolk gathered in Norwich and Great Yarmouth for a third Prayer for Revival meeting on April 4.

In Norwich there were more than 21 churches and 14 church ministers meeting in prayer agreement for God to move powerfully in every church across the region. Simultaneously, Great Yarmouth saw 11 churches and 5 church ministers coming together to pray in unity for God’s commanded blessing to be on His Church.

Phil Thorne, minister at City Church, Norwich, said: “As church and ministry leaders there is a growing anticipation that as we partner together across the city and region under the strap line, ‘Partnership Without Ownership’ God will command His blessing, ‘Life forevermore.’ Our resolve is that all churches would experience an increased sense of the presence of God at work in and through the church.

“The Prayer for Revival gatherings in both Norwich and Gt Yarmouth have been energised with the presence of God in both worship and prayer with many people testifying to how fantastic it was for many churches to meet together and pray in unison across the region. The excitement continues to grow concerning what God wants to do and the joy of gathering together in prayer. The amazing sense of unity and honouring one another in partnership has been growing in momentum and the call to continue meet to pray together was astounding.”

Vic Ready, Taverham Evangelical Church, said: “It was a great night with a real sense of expectation and encouragement for revival.”

Graham Dacre, who leads TLC Norwich, said: “Over recent months there has been an increasing anticipation of revival that’s building as churches come together to pray. The good news is that it is also bringing a sense of unity.”

Christine Field of NFLC, said: “A great night and inspiring to see so many people and church leaders coming together for one purpose—to see Jesus lifted up in our city and region! An evening packed with passionate worship, heartfelt prayer and unity. What a powerful combination! Surely these Prayer for Revival evenings are a key to unlock God’s blessing in our churches throughout the Norwich and the region. A big thank you to Pastor Phil and Jo Thorne and City Church for facilitating it.”

Alan Goldstone of Liberty Church Bungay, said: “The Lord is surely moving and we are waking up to Him.”

Phil Thorne said: “A number of church leaders have been enquiring about establishing a Prayer for Revival event in their area. I would be delighted to hear from other church leaders and ministries across the region that would like to partner with us in Prayer for Revival where they are, in our quest for the church across the region to rise up in the power of the Holy Spirit.”
