Churches Together in England (CTE) are supporting new safeguarding guidance for LEPs, a national initiative encouraging participation in the General Election, and a fund for young ecumenists

New Safeguarding Guidance for LEPs
New Safeguarding guidance is now available for those working in Local Ecumenical Partnerships.  This document has been agreed by a team from the Methodist Church, the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the United Reformed Church and the Church of England.  The document is available here.

General Election and Voter Registration
CTE has joined a national initiative to make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate at the next General Election.  Please do share information about this through your local churches and networks.  More information about the initiative, the Churches General Election pages and voter registration can be found here.

The Bill Snelson Fund for Young Ecumenists.
Please do remember to share information about the Bill Snelson Fund for Young Ecumenists.  CTE are really keen to receive applications from across the diverse range of Member Churches and so they need our help to spread the word.  The relevant page on the CTE website is here but the keys points to share are:
  • There’s £6000 a year available.
  • Applicants need to be between 18 and 35 and to be from a CTE Member Church.
  • The ecumenical experience abroad can be study, pilgrimage, volunteering or any activity that promotes church unity.
There is a video that highlights the fund Bill Snelson Video.

Applications open twice a year, and the next round for applications opens in the autumn.
