The Church Leaders

Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney is made up of seven denominations.  The church leaders meet formally twice a year to pray together and agree actions to support ecumenism across Norfolk and Waveney.  The NWCT leadership group are:

Rev Canon Julian Pursehouse (Chair in East Anglia Methodist District – who also acts as Convenor of the Leadership Group)
Major Howard Russell (East of England Divisional Commander for the Salvation Army)
Ms Liz Hoffbauer (The Society of Friends - Quakers)
Rev Lythan Nevard (Moderator for the Eastern Synod URC)
Rev David Mayne (Regional Minister Team Leader for the Eastern Baptist Association.)
Rt Rev Peter Collins (Roman Catholic Bishop of East Anglia)
Rt Rev Graham Usher (Diocesan Bishop in the Church of England)

Denominational Ecumenical Officers (DEOs)

Each of the seven Christian denominations that make up NWCT has a DEO whose role is to represent their own churches on Church Unity.  They are here to support ecumenical activities and advise on any specific denominational consideration that may arise.  The DEOs meet formally in a committee convened by the County Ecumenical Officer three times a year.  The current DEOs are:
