Christian author and poet to share stories in Dereham

On Saturday, October 14 Norfolk Christian author and psychologist Annie Try will be talking about her work at a ladies breakfast at Dereham Baptist Church with Norfolk Christian poet Ren Smith, followed by a joint book signing at Green Pastures bookshop.

Novelist Annie Try from rural Norfolk (pictured left) and poet Ren Smith (right) from North Norfolk will be speaking at a ladies breakfast at Dereham Baptist Church on Saturday, October 14, 9am – 10am

The literary pair will then cross the road to sign books and talk about their work at Green Pastures bookshop from 10.30am – 2pm.

Annie will be signing copies of her new book ‘Out of Silence’, published in September 2017, her second in the series of Mike Lewis, clinical psychologist detective stories.  Annie is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and writes regularly in academic journals under her professional name, Angela Hobday.

On the leadership team at her church in Cambridgeshire, Annie is Chair of the Association of Christian Writers, a national association which aims to encourage, equip and inspire Christians who write.

Poet Ren Smith moved to the North Norfolk coast in 2005. What was intended as a 'Granny Gap Year' developed into a major health crisis, enforcing retirement and Ren found the time to write more poetry than she had previously been able to do.

Ren will be signing copies of her book, 'Poems and More Poems' featuring poems that have been inspired by her career as a psychotherapist, the beauty of Norfolk, living with renal failure and eventually a transplant, and most of all in her lifelong, frequently stormy relationship with the Lord.

Well-known Christian author Adrian Plass said: "The combination of sparkling humour and a bruised but loving heart is irresistible. I love Ren's work and 'Bin Bag Dancing' is one of the most satisfying poems I have ever read."

Tickets for the Ladies Breakfast are £3 available from Green Pastures bookshop.
