Training course on dementia at Norwich church

Dr Sarah Housden, Senior Lecturer in Health Sciences at the UEA, will be leading a series of three training sessions on dementia at St Francis Church in Heartsease. 

The Parish Nursing Service at St Francis Church, Heartsease is providing an opportunity for people to find out more about dementia, how to communicate with people with dementia and how spirituality links to dementia.

The course consists of three sessions run by Dr Sarah Housden, Senior Lecturer in Health Sciences at the UEA.  The sessions will be held at St Francis Church, Rider Haggard Road, Heartsease from 7pm-9pm on the following dates:
  • Thursday 5th October - Understanding Dementia
  • Thursday 2nd November - Communicating with People with Dementia
  • Thursday 7th December - Spirituality and Dementia
All are welcome! Sessions are free to attend, but donations can be made to the St Francis Parish Nursing Service.  
Certification available for CPD purposes.  

The Parish Nursing Service, based at St Francis Church, has been running for three years. It provides whole person health care to people of all faiths and none within the area. The service offers aromatherapy, flower ministry, bereavement support and transport to health related appointments where possible. The parish nurse also makes home visits and runs a clinic at the local lunch club.
