Christian singer's welcome return to Gorleston
Christian singer and entertainer Jonathan Veira is making a welcome return to Gorleston with his new one man show Songs and Tales. He will be at Gorleston Pavilion on Friday June 9 at 7.30pm as part of this year’s Great Yarmouth Arts Festival.
This will be Jonathan's third visit to the town. His last appearance three years ago attracted a full house, and he was keen to return to the Edwardian venue with his latest blend of music and stories with which he tours all over the UK.
He is a regular at the annual Spring Harvest conventions at Butlins at Skegness and Minehead, as well as having appeared in the BBC Songs of Praise and the All Souls Praise at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
His rich voice keeps audiences entertained with a wide range of songs, from popular to worship; all mixed with plenty of often hilarious anecdotes and stories from his career and life generally.
‘It’s a rare mix of fun and faith, and people often comment that it is one of the most enjoyable evenings they’ve had in theatre,’ says Tony Mallion who is arranging the event for the festival. ‘It’s been a pleasure to have him on two occasions in the past, the first at Cliff Park Church and the second at the Pavilion where he seems very much at home. This will be a great evening.’
Jonathan has recently written a second volume of autobiography and this, together with his CDs, will be on sale. He will also be around to chat to people. ‘He never rushes off and always makes time to speak to everyone, even when he has been working so hard on stage.’ said Tony.
As well as his shows, he also leads worship at his home church in Guildford and is much in demand as an opera singer, especially in some of the comic roles, and has appeared at Norwich Theatre Royal with Glyndebourne Opera.
Tickets are available at £10 from the Gorleston Pavilion box office on 01493 662832, or go online to www.gorlestonpavilion.co.uk
