Cromer Foodbank needs volunteers
Having opened two new distribution centres and met more than a thousand requests for food in the last financial year, the Cromer and District Foodbank is appealing for additional volunteers.
The Cromer and District Foodbank operates distribution centres in Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, Aylsham, North Walsham and Stalham. Its main offices and warehouse are in Cromer. In the last financial year, it distributed 25 tonnes of food, enough to feed 2484 people for three days.
“Volunteers are the life blood of our foodbank,” says Ella King, Project Manager. “There are vacancies in the warehouse, distribution, fundraising and general admin. They all offer a chance to make a real difference to the lives of local people in financial crisis.”
Founded in 2012, the foodbank now works with over 90 partner agencies to offer food, support and signposting across 200 square miles of North Norfolk.
“125 volunteers help us get emergency food to people in real need,” Ella says. “We want people to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved.”
Anyone who might be able to help is invited to contact Ella by email : firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone : 07826 376343.
