Storm damages Mundesley Church Rooms

MundesleyVillageSign AT350Mundesley Church rooms on Cromer road suffered serious storm damage last week and has had to close for several months after the gable end collapsed.

Storm-force winds ripped a large hole in a gable wall and sent a large load of the bricks and mortar crashing to the ground. The rubble fell outside the building, crushing a shed containing children’s toys and play equipment.

The Church Rooms, close to the parish church, are likely to be closed for several months as a result of the damage.  A large number of sports and social clubs using a north Norfolk venue have been left without a permanent base.

The gale happened as Mundesley Table Tennis Club members played just a few feet below, on January 14, but everyone left the building quickly and no-one was hurt.
