Norwich church joins Elim and names new pastor
Today’s Lifestyle Church at Drayton near Norwich has announced it is to join the Elim Pentecostal Church and will welcome its new senior pastor on September 4.
Rev Dominic De Souza, together with his wife Catherine, have just arrived in Norwich in preparation to take on the leadership of the church. The couple were previously at LGCC, a thriving and growing Elim church in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, which Dominic led since 2009.
The occasion also marks the transition of tlcNorwich, previously an independent church, into the Elim Pentecostal Churches, a denomination of over 600 churches in the UK and Ireland which gathers around 70,000 people in attendance on Sundays and which is celebrating its centenary this year.
Prior to serving as senior pastor of LGCC, Dominic was an associate pastor and Director of Training at Kensington Temple, one of the UK's largest churches. Catherine was also a departmental leader at Holy Trinity Brompton, the home of the Alpha Course which millions around the world have attended.
Dominic said: "It's exciting to take on the leadership of tlcNorwich. We see a great future for the church - a church that, standing together with other churches, brings the hope, love and life-changing power of Jesus to all parts of society, that works for justice and stands up for the vulnerable, that is an agent of reformation and transformation in the city."
The induction service, takes place on September 4 at 7:30pm at Drayton Hall, Hall Lane, NR8 6DP, and is open to all.
