Social media secrets – a Christian workshop

A team from the Network Norfolk website revealed the secrets of social media to churches, organisations and individuals from across the local Christian community last night at Hope Community Church in Wymondham as part of a programme of events to mark the tenth anniversary of Network Norfolk

social media Hope 2The beginners guide to social media workshop explained the basics of social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook and how to use each one to get messages across more effectively. The session also revealed the essential ingredient to any successful online communication and how to use Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and all the other myriad channels to best advantage.

The workshop was run by Network Norfolk’s senior content editor and website designer, Helen Baldry, who also runs online communications for Active Norfolk and a Norwich church, assisted by Mid Norfolk content editor Andy Latham, where they provided an overview of the basics – for example what hashtags are, how to get people to ‘like’ your page on Facebook as well as examples of good social media accounts and best practice.

All delegates had the opportunity to get on-line and use social media platforms and interact with the team to learn more, and everyone went away with a fresh understanding and a greater confidence to interact with social media platforms in the future.
