Lorraine starts work with Youth for Christ in Yarmouth

The new youth worker with the Unite team at East Norfolk Youth for Christ (ENYFC) started work in Yarmouth on September 5. Tony Rothe reports.

Lorraine Lythaby is from Lowestoft, and has ten years of experience in relating to young people with similar home environments and other challenges as many of those with whom Unite comes into contact at school and clubs.

Ali Roberts, director of ENYFC, says “Lorraine has already shown her commitment by taking a significant drop in her salary to work with us on a part-time basis. Hopefully she will have plenty of time to engage in her other loves – the great outdoors, kayaking, canoeing and cycling. She will be a great asset to the team as she is passionate about sharing her faith”

Lorraine says she is “looking forward to a new challenge with YFC, working with young people and sharing the word of God with them”.  She has asked specifically for prayers for:
“The new challenge ahead and for God to direct me on the right path; that I will settle into the new role that God has provided for me, that I will be accepted by the young people and the volunteers; that God will lead us to what He has planned for us in Great Yarmouth and for the wider community.”

Please pray also for Lorraines’s working relationship with Ali; that they will be united in Him and His plans for the town, that their relationship will be fun and honouring to each other and God.

East Norfolk yfc logo 360Ali concluded "We have waited a long time for Lorraine and, in that wait, God has lovingly taught us patience, trust, steadfastness and to pray in ALL circumstances.  3 years seems a long time but it's really not long in eternity and we are very excited about the future, knowing that God has obviously been preparing Unite, Lorraine, Ali and the school for such a time as this."
